Follow @thehealthypush
Tilapia is a high protein fish that is low in carbohydrates. Tilapia has 26 grams of protein and a fat content of three grams. In addition, Tilapia is an excellent source of phosphorus, niacin, selenium, a good source of potassium, and vitamin B12-an essential vitamin for healthy cell function.
Vitamin B12 has a long list of benefits for the human body and it is super great for red blood cell production, nervous system function, sperm production, normal growth and the proper function of the immune system. In addition there is evidence showing it aids to improve memory and concentration, help prevent cancer and also protect against allergies and toxins. Did you know Vit-B12 protects against the toxins found in cigarettes, especially cyanide? Vitamin B12 is very active in the association of the production of melatonin, which controls the release of many hormones in the body and is involved with the sleep/wake cycle.
